Birthday Dinners on the Danforth

A birthday table at Mezes is something people talk about. The warmth of the room, the saganaki arriving in flames, the platters kept coming — it creates the kind of evening that becomes a tradition.

For small birthday dinners of 4 to 8, walk in and let your server know what you're celebrating. For larger birthday groups of 10 or more, call ahead and we'll arrange a section of the room (or a full buyout at 456 Danforth) to make it properly special.

Suggested birthday spread: Start with the Large Kria Poikilia dip platter, order saganaki for the table, let everyone choose their own souvlaki dinner, and finish with baklava and Greek yogurt with honey.

Anniversary & Date Night

Greek food is romantic in a way that doesn't try too hard. It's intimate without being stuffy, indulgent without being heavy, and sharing plates across a table has a way of making conversation happen naturally.

For a date night at Mezes, we'd suggest arriving around 7pm on a weekday evening when the room has settled into its rhythm. Start with tzatziki and tirokafteri. Order the octopus. Share the lamb chops. End with galaktoboureko.

If you want something to feel more like a special occasion, let your server know when you arrive.

Mother's Day & Father's Day

Greek cuisine was built for family tables. A spread of mezze in the middle, everyone reaching across, conversations running over each other — this is what Sunday lunch was invented for.

We do get busy on Mother's Day and Father's Day, so coming early or on the weekend before is wise.

Graduation Dinners

A graduation calls for a feast. Bring your graduate and the whole family, pick a corner of the room, and let the food keep coming. The meze format means everyone finds something they love, dietary restrictions and all.

Bachelorette & Bachelor Parties

Mezes has been the pre-night-out dinner for more bachelorette parties than we can count. Great food, Greek wine poured generously, a warm room full of energy  it's the right energy before a night out on the Danforth.

For bachelorette groups, we recommend the full meze experience: dip platters for the table, saganaki ordered immediately, the Mezes of Rodos seafood platter shared among four, and whatever everyone else orders on top of that.

Christmas & Holiday Dinners

There is something about a Greek table at Christmas that feels like what Christmas dinner was always supposed to be. The lamb, the phyllo, the honey-soaked baklava at the end. We're open throughout the holiday season and extend our hours for the weeks of Christmas and New Year's.

Check our Instagram @mezesdanforth for holiday hours and any seasonal specials.

Greek Orthodox Easter (Pascha)

Greek Easter is the most important celebration in the Greek calendar — more so than Christmas. At Mezes, we mark Pascha with traditional dishes and a menu that honours the occasion. If you'd like to experience a Greek Orthodox Easter dinner, our table is open to everyone.

Walk-ins welcome. No reservations.
